MANY POSTS AGO, i was blogging on the topic of Lephet, that Burmese fermented tea leaf salad. Featured this time are a few main courses and a light breakfast. Admittedly, this page falls far short of capturing what makes food in Myanmar both appealing and unique. For example where is the Mohinga? That was a fish soup that i had for breakfast, several times, which included noodles and coconut. It varied tremendously: one time it was wonderful, another time far from it. Mohinga is as Burmese as Sushi is Japanese. So with these meagre cyber offerings, in the food department, this post must still go on!

If you happen to follow Anthony Bourdain, that bad boy of the cooking and travel show circuit, you are in for a treat. "Parts Unknown" happened to feature Myanmar on April 15 (CNN). His shows can be very entertaining as well as informative. In this segment the net is cast far beyond just food—politics and history get served up too. If you wish to stream this, click on the "Parts Unknown" button, in the website, for the program in HD. Full screen mode will make it even more enjoyable. Enjoy the ride!
